LEGO Video Games

Lego Batman

Lego Batman

First of all I would like to state that though I enjoy video games I really am no good at them. There are many reasons for my poor gaming skills, the biggest of which is my video game ADD. I get a game, play it for about a week, and never touch it again. Currently both Kingdom Hearts II and Zelda: Phantom Hourglass are being neglected. (In the case of Kingdom Hearts I am completely stuck on two different boss battles so I gave up – another issue of mine)

I have only ever completed two games in my life – Sonic and Knuckles (Sega Genesis) and Final Fantasy 9 (PS2). Oh, I guess I also finished Guitar Hero 2 on medium and the vocals for Rock Band.

Lego Indiana Jones

Well, just recently I went to Rogers Video and rented the new Lego: Indiana Jones game. I rented it because I knew I would probably play it for those seven days, get bored and it would be time to move on. Well… I didn’t get bored. *Shock* I was actually late in returning the game and part of me is desperately wanting to go rent it again. Unfortunately I am way too busy at the moment that I will be waiting until the end of summer to play any video game aside from Rock Band. You can’t say no to Rock Band.

Lego Star Wars

Now, before discussing on why this game rocked so much, I want to mention that a few years back I played the Lego: Star Wars game on my brother’s Game Cube. That game was super rad – especially in two player mode- and a while later I went and rented it for the Nintedo DS (the only game system I owned at the time). Now, this was where my Lego game experience was ruined because the controls on the DS are way more simplistic then the Cube since it doesn’t have those little joystick thingies (I think they’re called Analog sticks). In the DS version you’re restricted to the directional pad making it difficult to turn your character in diagonal directions which is a necessity in the game. It was a sad moment in my gaming history.

Well, just recently I bought myself a PS2 (I feel so 8 years ago) and at the same time rented Lego: Indiana Jones. Every moment I had to myself was sitting on my couch playing this game. It was just so much fun. I loved it because as a fan of Indiana Jones it allowed me to relive the moment in the movie through Lego characters. And who doesn’t love Lego. I also loved that the more stuff you break the more money you got – and you can pretty much break everything in the game. It was also great because you can play the game once in story mode and then go back and play any unlocked character through the same level again.

And to top everything off this September (my birthday month) they are releasing Lego: Batman. I mean how full of awesome is that. It is already top of my list for must haves. The only issue is I have to try and wait patiently until Sept. 24th before I can get it.
