Inspired by The Sarah Silverman Program, on Tuesday August 12th my friends and I participated in the very first Cookie Party!
If you have never seen The Sarah Silverman Program you have no idea what I’m talking about. Well, on the show Sarah and her sister are huge fans of a television show called Cookie Party which is hosted by a cross dressing “Miniature Coffee” and features two teams in a battle of the cookie. As fans of both Sarah Silverman and cookies my friends decided to have a cookie party of their own.
Breaking the teams into two groups of four with a menagerie of ingredients at our disposal we set off to make our master baking creations. One team in one kitchen, another team in the kitchen across the hall. Now, I’d love to say that we all set to work with great passion, flour flying everywhere, but that really wasn’t the case. My team ended up losing two members – one wanted to be a judge and the other just never showed up – and the other team left all the actual baking up to one person. (They lost mucho marks for team participation.) None the less, it was a hell of a lot of fun. My team made a triple chip – chocolate, caramel and m&ms – cookie that was plated on a bed of gummie bears and marshmallows while the other team went more sophisticated with a chocolate and white chocolate cookie plated with chocolate drizzle and fruit garnish. Hungry yet?
My team won! Mostly due to participation points. Both cookies were absolutely amazing which means that technically everyone was a winner since there were cookies by the end of it. We all finished the night with a severe sugar high (one of us had a minor concussion too – poor Steve) and played Rock Band until dawn… okay, until 11pm, but I had to get up early the next day.
Ahh… good times.
